Magdeburg looks back at more than 1200 years of history. A time spanning from the first mention in a writing of 805 AD as a fort of Karl the Great till now. In 1208 AD the foundation of today's cathedral was laid by archbishop Albrecht to replace the previous building which had burnt down in 1207 AD.



Magdeburg blickt auf mehr als 1200 Jahre Geschichte zurück. Eine Zeitspanne von der ersten Erwähnung in einer Schrift von 805 als Festung von Karl dem Großen bis heute. Im Jahre 1208 wurde der Grundstein für den heutigen Dom durch den Erzbischof Albrecht gelegt, um das vorherige Gebäude zu ersetzen, das im Jahre 1207 abbrannte.
